Dating app Swipe is rolling out its much anticipated “Moments” feature next week to encourage more interaction and real world meet-ups between its 10 million user community.
“Today, if you own a smartphone, you’re carrying a 24-7 singles bar in your pocket.” – Aziz Ansari
With the launch of Swipe dating and the new moments feature they hope to fully utilize the power of this “24/7 singles bar in your pocket.” Users can create moments around what they are up to or what activity that would like to do in the next 24 hours. Moments can range from grabbing a bite to eat, going for a hike, or hanging out at the beach.
With the new feature, other Swipe users will be able to see what people in their area are interested in doing and “seize the opportunity,” Swipe says. This is certainly an exciting new way to bring people together.
In order to use the new Moments feature, users must tap the “Share a Moment” container on top of the home feed. They can then select from one of the fun preset moments like “Going to the Beach” Grab a Coffee? Users can also type their own text and include a picture in their moments. The moment will be visible to other users in your area for 24 hours.
If two people are interested in doing the same activity then a “Match” will be formed and they can begin a conversation with each other.
The Swipe by SoulSwipe founders said the new Moments feature enables “people to meet like-minded individuals by enabling them to connect with the right people at the right time.”
We’re excited to see how far Swipe can take their new Moment’s feature. Could moment’s power swipe to be the next breakthrough social network?
