When it comes to dating, most people think it’s best to stay within your own age range. However, as society progresses and people are becoming more comfortable dating outside of “normal,” many people are finding they prefer dating women 10 or even 20 years older than themselves. The benefits speak for themselves.
1. She Has Established Her Own Life
If you’re the type of guy who isn’t into clingy women, you may want to consider dating someone older. An older woman has had more time to build her own life. She likely is established in her career, has a solid set of friends, and either has rented or owned her own place for a few years already. Because she already has things she’s worked hard to achieve, an older woman is less likely to latch on or “accidentally” leave things at your apartment than a younger one is.
2. She Is More Sexually Experienced
You are more likely to be satisfied during sex. If you aren’t very experienced yet yourself, an older woman will probably be able to teach you a thing or two about how to please your partners. Do you have a high libido? While men tend to have high sex drives in their late teens and early 20s, women’s sex drives peak in their 30s and beyond, so an older woman will be more likely to keep up with a younger man.
3. She Is Likely More Confident in a Crowd
When you take an older woman to weddings, work parties, or other large events, she is more likely to mingle on her own. Older women usually feel more confident in larger crowds because they’d had more experience being in them. Additionally, they typically have their own stories to tell and won’t need to rely on you to start conversations.
4. She Has Already Had Kids
If you don’t want children, consider dating an older woman. If she doesn’t have kids, it’s probably because she has decided she doesn’t want them and will be on board with your way of thinking. If she did want kids, she likely already had them and either pushed them out of the nest or will be within the next few years. However, beware that dating a woman who has teenagers or older children will likely leave you open to age-related jokes, if not ridicule. You may need a thick skin.
5. She Knows What She Wants
An older woman already knows what she does and doesn’t want in and out of the bedroom. Are you into bondage and roleplay? She’ll either be willing or have no problem telling you that you simply aren’t a match. Do you want to travel the world? Either she’ll join you or she’ll say sayonara. The point is, an older woman probably won’t play games. You won’t need to spend hours trying to decipher her tone of voice when she says, “I’m not mad” because if she really were mad, she’d tell you.
6. She Can Make You a Better Person
A successful older woman is not likely to date someone who lives in his mom’s basement and hasn’t had a pay raise at his gas station job since he started. She will expect the person she dates to be working toward achievements, which means you’ll need to be working toward your own goals to impress her. Older women also won’t be afraid to tell you if you’re being a jerk and explain why your attitude is offensive. By the time your relationship has run its course, you’ll be more polite and probably even more established in your own life.
7. She Is More Mature
An older woman is generally just more mature. She already did the college, dive bars, and keg party scene and has probably moved on to upscale restaurants and martini bars. At the very least, she can leave a dive bar without having gotten too drunk to stand alone. Older women are more willing to talk things out and if you are looking for a casual relationship on MILF area, they will be interested as long as you’re honest about what you want.
Maybe you aren’t sure if dating an older woman is for you but you won’t know if you don’t try. If anything, it will be a learning experience and prepare you for when you do meet someone closer to your age.
